Dropbox Transfer
8 TopicsAdding extra space to a professional account without upgrading to business
I am currently a professional account holder with 3TB of storage space, I am 500GB away from running out of space. As a creative I work with large file sizes and I was looking to upgrade to get a few more TB of storage. My only option is to upgrade to a Business Account, which would be fine, however you need to have a minimum of 3 licences which makes it very expensive for 2 extra TB which the Standard packages offers, I use the dropbox transfer tool almost every day so ideally I would be on the Advanced plan so I have have the same transfer limit of 100GB transfer limit which I get with Professional. Currently I pay around £15 per month for my package, currently if I want 2TB extra I would need to pay £30 per month and get less services than I do now or £45 per month to get what I really need. which is an increase of £30 per month which is excessive. Why doesn't Dropbox allow to increase storage space without needing to but licences which are not needed. As a long term customer of over 10 years who uses the service every day I am getting to a point where will need to make a decision to leave Dropbox and go to an alternative provider of which there are many to to choose from. For example: - IDrive offer 10TB for $3.98 a month pCloud offer 10TB for $3.95 a month I need to do more research on this but Apple, Google and probably Amazon will offer similar services, the only thing stopping me at the moment is the hassle of transfering all my data across. But I will do it if needed. Please Dropbox you are currently alienating what will be a big proportion of your loyal customer base. Sort it out!Solved7.8KViews2likes21CommentsOutbound Data Transfer cost?
Hi, I could not find anything about this on the website so I'm asking it here. Does anyone know if Dropbox charges an Outbound Data Transfer cost? If so, where could I find information on the pricing structure, specifically the cost per gigabyte (GB) for outbound data transfers? Kindest regards,1.4KViews0likes5Commentswhat plan do you recommend according to price
in the company where I am, we are a team of 3 people working, we have the free plan where they give 2 Gb, we upload files to the same folder and we visualize it in 3 machines, with 3 different emails, however now we run out of space, so I wanted to ask if when paying only me the dropbox plus, in the other computers also appears with 2000 Gb, or I have to buy the family plan to add the 3 people.Solved1.3KViews0likes2CommentsDropbox Transfer vs Dropbox Professional??
I currently have and use often Dropbox transfer, and I'm very happy with it. I'd like more cloud storage, and better notifications of who and when downloaded my files. I am not interested, in loading Dropbox on my machine and having it run in the background on my client machine, like the normal Dropbox plans do. I like using and keeping everything in the cloud with no app on my client machine, like Transfer does. Can someone tell me how Dropbox Professional, is the same, and how it differs from Dropbox transfer?? Thanks!Solved607Views0likes1CommentSeeking guidance on which subscriptions/modules suit my use case
Hi Community! Hoping for some guidance on how to get the most suitable subscription (/module use) for my specific scenario. Working as part of a small-business (read: cash-strapped) where we provide graphic assets to our ~150-200 clients each week on a Monday AM. Currently using the DropBox Transfer capability to create a new custom link each Sunday that contain the assets within and send that via email to clients (requirement-1). We also love and need the ability to see the view/download insights per link/client as this helps us understanding engagement with our service (requirement-2). The key constraint to solve for is the current manual operational process used to a) create the link (currently, DropBox Transfer link) with graphics within, and then b) add that custom link into our weekly Email (for 150-200 clients). It adds substantial manual effort to our weekly production process and we are very keen to optimise this, as its not very scalable. I had hoped to be able to have a 'persistent link' for each Client that they can use/bookmark, and standardise that link into our email (remove the weekly manual effort). We could then simply add the assets into a new folder for the week's content 'week starting DDMMYYYY' etc. Should still be quite useable for the clients! (requirement-1 should be fine here!). Problem: I don't believe that we will get the download/engagement insights from just a 'standard folder' (requirement-2 failing in this solution). Can anyone share more? Is there an option where this can still be met?428Views0likes1Comment
