You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.
Dropbox Replay
26 TopicsShare a a file directly from Dropbox using Replay features
If you have the Replay add on, I think you should have the ability to send "share via Replay" links from a file in dropbox. When using this option the file would be available in Replay automatically and sync with that file in dropbox for comments/changes. Versions could be uploaded into the same folder with a naming scheme. Bottom line, everything should be do-able within the dropbox app - everything from setting up folders, workspaces, versions, etc... leaving replay for the viewer experience, comments, and other forms of communication about the file. All file upload/download/versions/links should be integrated into Dropbox, so that file management can be done from the Dropbox side1.2KViews1like4CommentsDropbox Replay compare mode - add the ability to see comments on previous versions
Hello, When reviewing new versions on Compare Mode, there's no way (or I can't find a way) to see the comments from a previous versions to understand if the issues were addressed or not. As a workaround, I have to open two different windows set them side by side, one with current version and another with the previous version, I call it Manual Compare Mode. I don't think this makes any sense. Making the switch from Frame.IO this is something that is extremely useful that I really miss. Also, Compare Mode should be available on shared links as my clients also miss this feature, as it is extremely useful as already stated in many posts. Can Dropbox please add the ability to see previous versions comments in Compare Mode? Cheers!796Views5likes6CommentsTrial period for the Dropbox Replay add-on
I reckon that the full replay add-on could be useful, however before I pay for a full annual fee I would have to test it. Does it actually fit our workflow, can we get our clients to use it, how good is the transcription feature etc. You guys are not selling this thing very well tbh. Looking forward to see more!527Views0likes2CommentsDark/bright or colored themes for Dropbox Replay
Hi there, As Dropbox Replay is a reviewing tool on which clients, partners, brands... are landing to watch a work in progress, it would be really a great idea to have the same dark/bright mode switch as in Dropbox itself. Sometimes people prefer a dark environment, and sometimes not. Moreover, we also use Dropbox Replay as a portfolio tool when responding to calls for tenders, or as a video bank whose link clients can share to let TV channels or other media services download media assets. So in those cases it would even be useful to be able to choose any color as a background theme. As an example, I am just responding to an important call for tendrers for which I need to build a portfolio. Dropbox Replay is perfect for this purpose BUT the client's guidelines are very clear : No dark background. Only white background is accepted for their communications. So using Dropbox Replay here is the same as saying to the client : "I didn't understand anything about your graphic guidelines". (Or mood, spirit, .....) Thanks!859Views0likes2CommentsReplay - Comments follow versions
As I go through versions - it would be good to have the comments follow - so when looking at a new version I can see if the requested changes were in fact completed and completed to my liking. Right now if I add a new version all the comments remain attached to the older version - and so while viewing the new version I can not follow along and resolve.2.5KViews14likes9CommentsAbility to overlap a video version with audio versions in Replay
Hi I work in audio and have recently started using the Replay feature and love it. However, my life would be made far simpler if after I have uploaded a video and received notes, I can simply upload a .wav file for the next version and Replay marry that with the video file that's already uploaded. It would save me a lot of time if I could upload a video once since it doesn't change, and just upload new audio versions going forward. Any way to implement this feature, Dropbox?534Views0likes2CommentsSearch Function in Replay
I'm quite happy with what Replay has to offer so far but there is one function missing that I feel is super important especially if we become a long time user - A search function. Currently I guess the only way to search all videos quickly would be to upload files to Dropbox first before importing to Replay to use the search function there but it's an extra step in our workflow that we don't want to have to do.Adding this function may see us fully migrate from Vimeo to Dropbox.2KViews0likes6CommentsReplay and audio quality bump
Super excited about this feature!! Really great. However, in my case, I would most likely use this for music/audio collaboration and the max 256 audio quality won't hit the mark for me.. can this service also support NO compression on audio, so we can post 16bit / 24bit uncompressed Wav or AIF files?1KViews1like2CommentsWhen making comments on videos in Dropbox Replay I want to manualy enter the frame number.
It's great that when I stop the video and make a comment, with the box clicked, it automatically puts the linkable frame at the start of the comments. However when it isn't precisely the frame I am referring to, it takes a few extra seconds to scrub to find the exact frame so that it appears correctly. I was surprised that I couldn't manually write in the frame, or edit the frame number that the comment is referring to. It's great that I can click on the blue numbers and go right to play the video at the frame indicated. And I like that I can leave comments that don't refer to a frame number at all.2KViews1like4Comments
