Dropbox Paper
54 TopicsDropbox Paper leave a shared document or folder
I am having a problem, I read an article about how to manage projects using paper, the article had a link to a sample Paper Document, I clicked on it and I was added to the Document list of people who can see and commend along with a couple hundred more that also clicked the link, now that I looked at the file I want to remove it from my Paper Docs, but I cannot find the option to do so, I can archive my own documents and eventually delete them, but I cannot remove or leave that document that was "shared" with me. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am new to Dropbox Paper, I manage my notes elsewher but want to move all of them to Paper, I will pull the trigger once I can also have offline access to those notes on my Mac.16KViews1like59CommentsI'd like to receive real-time email notifications
Dear Forum Users, I am currently using a free Dropbox account for the purpose of testing. The objective of the overall exercise is to identify web-based solutions for the storage of and collaboration on documents of various standard file types (MS Office files, pdf files etc). I understand that in the notifications menu in Settings I can check the box for "Activity in shared folders (weekly digest)". This presumably means that once a week I get an email message describing what "happened" in shared folders (i.e., additions, revisions, deletions; additional users with access to the folder etc). My company is currently using Egnyte for sharing and jointly working on documents with clients. Egnyte offers the option of receiving updates of the type referred to above on a daily or even on a real-time basis. The real-time notifications have become an essential element of our workflows, so we would only consider switching to Dropbox if a paid Dropbox plan offered the same feature. I have noted that upon installing the desktop app it may be possible to receive notifications of the kind I am referring to although they would presumably not be sent / received via email. Unfortunately, relying on the use of the desktop app is not an option for us. The notifications about changes need to be sent by email and they need to work even if only the web-based version of Dropbox is used. If anyone knows whether any (and, if yes, which) paid Dropbox plan provides the exact functionality that I am looking for I would be grateful for a reply. From some brief research in the "help" section of the website, I note that the notification settings for Dropbox Paper are different / separate from the ones for the regular Dropbox. Ideally the answer would also describe which notifications (if any) are available for Dropbox Paper. From my research, I also note that the use of an additional third-party programme such as Growl or Zapier might make it possible to receive the kind of notifications that we are interested in. We would be happy to consider this option. The cost of additional app subscriptions is not a concern, but whatever we end up setting up has to absolutely, reliably work. Whatever the responses may be, many thanks in advance for your time and trouble. EdSolved12KViews6likes15CommentsCan Dropbox/Paper enable me to process .txt files on my iPhone?
In Windows 10, I use Notepad to create .txt files. Can Dropbox/Paper enable me to sync these .txt files with my iPhone SE, and open and edit them and Save/Save As, and even create .txt files, using my iPhone SE? If so, how, exactly? If not, how else can I do this? I don't want to sync Word files or anything complicated, only .txt files, so I want a minimalist, lightweight solution, just like Notepad is on Windows. I have a vague idea that an app called PlainText used to handle .txt files on iPhone, but that PlainText does not work on iOS 11. [ Confusing new world to me, the iPhone, especially with no back button. ] Any help woud be much appreciated, preferably in simple English, I know very little computer jargon. Hi Dropbox community - I'm a design researcher here at Dropbox. I'm curious about how you access Dropbox! How do you access Dropbox: the website, the desktop app (for mac/windows), and/or the mobile app (iOS, android)? For those you use, why do you use them? For those you don't, why not? Is there anything you wish you could do on one that you can't today? Why?9.5KViews6likes11CommentsI wanna know who deleted files.
An entire fodler has been deleted. I want to know who did it to educate them that if they delete from their harddrive they also delete from the entire Team and thus to avoid future errors. We areof course using a Dropbox Business Account. When I navigate through to the Team Activity log,https://www.dropbox.com/team/admin/activity I cant see any way to show when files were Deleted. Whichis frustrating, because I can see that Dropbox have listed Deleted Paper Files and Permanently Deleted Files. "Deleted a file" is not an option. Please help to find the report that shows who deleted the file from the Team folder. Thank you. GeoffSolved9.1KViews1like4CommentsNewline within Latex/Katex editing mode
Is there a way to enter a newline within the Latex/Katexeditor? (I mean, in the Latex code displayed between $$ terminators.) The behavior of the [Enter] key is torender the current Latex codeas math. I was hoping [Shift-Enter] would instead insert a newline into the Latex code itself. This is useful, e.g., when dealing with multi-line environments described at the Katex page. Thank you.Solved7.7KViews1like4Comments
