Dropbox Backup

Can you schedule Dropbox back ups from web to local Mac (maxing processor and energy levels), can I schedule the back ups over time (say a week?) Hello, I have added a new Macbook Pro (used) and begun to sync it with the folders my other Macs and iPad utilize. However it has taken DAYS (and still not 50% done) and taking up 3 times the hard disk space as the actual backup/sync. I have paused it to give the processor and fan a rest. Is there a way to schedule these transfers so I can batch them over several days or a week? My poor Mac is sounding tired! I had two Dropbox accounts: 1. <> 2. <> The problem was that when I tried to select the files to backup for the <> account, C:\BACKUP\ was not available for selection and this is where my stuff is. So I chatted with Mary Mary told me the <> was a trial told me how to delete it, which I did. Then Mary told me that my <> account was a Plus account with a Trial. Mary told me to cancel the Trial part, which I did. Then Mary told me to click "The link", and she closed the chat. But she didn't give me any link. Then my <> account was gone. Now, I have no account at all. This means that I can't get online tech support. I paid $119 in June for my <> Plus account. I want my <> account back and I want tech support [Personal information removed from the post by Moderator as per the Community's Guidelines]141Views0likes1CommentHow to restore files from Dropbox Backup
I recently backed up 200-GB of files from an external hard drive that was getting old. I used the DropBox Backup feature figuring it would be easier to simply use a "restore" feature rather than manually copying files over. I now have a new drive but have found that DropBox backup doesn't actually have a "restore" feature despite market the ability to "restore a new computer from backup". From what I can see you have to manually select files and download them (what I was trying to avoid). Dropbox also forces the files to be ZIPd, which it can't do for 200GB of files. So now my files are literally stuck on Dropbox with no way to get them off. Seems like a completely useless feature? Does anyone know a workaround or am I going to have to manually download 200GB of files in small batches?1.9KViews2likes8CommentsHow to stop & unlink the automatic downloads to Dropbox?
I was linked from an Epson Fast Foto 680W-FF photo scanner, software, to Dropbox. On the old Epson Fast Foto you had to be connected to Dropbox. I have a new Epson Fast Foto, same machine, new software. I don't have to use Dropbox anymore in Fast Foto. I used it on the new machine to start with, until I figured out how to not use it. Somehow, I am still linked to Dropbox. I figured out today how to go to Dropbox.com, rather than the Dropbox app and I started moving folders off Dropbox and deleting the folder on Dropbox after I moved the folder out. For some reason as I was cleaning up my downloads on my MacBook and moving the download folders my Mac documents, the folders are going to Dropbox! I am very disappointed that writing on this platform is the best Dropbox can do for a Basic:/ I am not computer savvy. I learned deleting folders on Dropbox from the App, means I completely lose the folder everywhere! don't ask me how I figured out how to delete folders from Dropbox.com instead:/267Views0likes2CommentsWhy are Dropbox files on my desktop after enabling backup on Windows 11?
On a new PC running Windows 11, after installing Dropbox and using the backup function to backup up the "documents" and "desktop" folders, the files on my desktop now show file paths to my Dropbox folder, not to my default desktop folder. The default folder still exists, and syncs with the desktop folder in the the Dropbox folder. I want to work with files directly from my default desktop folder. The Dropbox backup should not become my desktop. This isn't a problem with the "documents" folder, since I can choose whether to work on the one in the Dropbox folder or the default one. But my "default" desktop is now in my dropbox folder. Is there a way to fix this? Since this happened I also have the strange problem that files I attempt to move from my desktop to other folders are copied, rather than moved. The original remains on the desktop. This does not happen when I move files from a folder to the desktop.262Views0likes1CommentTrying to download my Backup but won't let me. Error "too many zip files".
I have 1.5 Tb of files "backed up" that Is in my account but I don't know how to download it, because every time I press download, it says "error, too many zip files tried to download". I really need to get those files back on my local external hard drive please help. I really need what's under the "backup" section to be under the "normal account files" with all my regular files in my dropbox account. Please Help I'm so frustrated and never want to use "back up" again.447Views0likes3CommentsDownload an entire backup of all files including those in the vault
Please provide a feature to backup the entire content of all files in dropbox (including the vault). The result might be a multi-volume RAR file for example. It would be understanding if the resulting files would only be available within 24~48hours, and be downloadable only for a week after which the files are removed. This feature is available on almost all Dropbox competitors, including Google Drive. (PS: The current workarounds are totally not usable: downloading small subsets less than 250GB or 10,000 files at a time; and moving files out of Vault for the time being, which times out if it takes too long)325Views0likes1CommentHow to download old Backup, to my new external one?
Hi! Few days ago my MacBook and external drives were stolen. Luckily I had a dropbox backup of this stolen external drive. It contained all my pictures (1,5 TB). Now I have a new MacBook and a new external drive, but I can't figure what the best way is to get my dropbox backup files to the external drive. Do I neem to download it first to my Mac and then copy it to the exernal drive? I'm trying this, but it seems that the backup (of subfolders of the backup) or too big to download on Mac. Any help on how to do this?365Views0likes1Comment
