Add .dropboxignore directory to exclude folders without using selective sync
Please please please can you add a feature that allows folders to be excluded from the Dropbox account (on windows and mac). For sure I'm not the first person to request this, but I'm yet to find a good explanation of why it's not there. A quick google search reveals loads of people also looking for the same feature. I really like the workflow I have with dropbox, but it's getting to the point where I might switch providers in order to allow better selective sync. I've seen hackish solutions using selective sync, but it would be great if this could be done in one of the following ways: - global pattern matching eg "node_modules" - a marker file in the directory like .dropboxignore - a simple right click context menu "Ignore this folder" Other than that, keep up the good work. First, I would like to thank the Dropbox development team for addressing the issue with not being able to use my own desktop icons in Windows for Dropbox folders. That was accomplished a couple years ago. I wouldn't have kept my Dropbox account otherwise. That is very important to me and apparently to many subscribers. So, I am back on the same topic. I can change the icon for any folder except a shared folder, for which there is only the standard icon provided by Dropbox. If you have many shared folders, you have many icons that are the same. So, how about allowing a user to change the icon of a shared folder? I spent a least a couple of hours on trying to find out how. But nothing works. When I change it in Windows customize folder option, it never takes for a shared folder. Now, why is that? I think it's time for the Dropbox develooment team to step up, like they have before and solve another simple problem. We know you can do it. We are cheering you on! Disable folder deletion in team space for team members
We have issues with users accidentally deleting entire folders, unfortunately this seems to happen on our larger teams that have a lot of data in their folders. This means a lot of down time waiting for help recovering the folders/files. We regularly train our users not to delete folders but it happens anyway. Our users need to be able to edit files, but there is no reason for them to be able to delete entire folders. Having a function to prevent users from being able to delete at the Folder level would prevent a lot of down time as well as having to escalate recovery to DropBox.

Folder automation video conversion settings for proxy media
Hi, I would like to have adjustable video encoding settings within folder automation settings. For example, I would like to have the option to be able to convert a large 4K MP4 file with a 50kbps bitrate and large file size into a more manageable proxy file at 720p with a lower bitrate of 5kbps, or any combination of resolutions and bitrates.

Hello, PLEASE please allow me to change the files icons to be relevant! I want easily to sort my files but with these blank blue file icons it’s makes organising files not enjoyable. I work with physical stuff, laser cutting, painting, hand crafts, CAD software, sculpting and a bunch of other things that are non computer based. Having icons or images that are relevant to me when scanning through files would not just speed up but give a sense of personalisation and organisation which helps my process when organising vastly different topics in the organisation stage.
