Render Markdown files and if there is a README.md in a folder do something smart to have it rendered when viewing that folder.

More and more people are using the README.md convention for describing what's this folder is all about, especially when shared with teams for work, or school or little projects. So besides the obvious that you need to be able to render .md files we could also have render under the file list the rendered version of README.md if exists in that particular folder.

I would like to see this, although it would be online views only - it wouldn't work for locally synced files.

Yes of course it's only for online views. Locally it's the same as having a PDF or a DOC.. you need to have an app in order to view them.

And not to forget that it would be great for the mobile apps (iOs/android) to be able to render markdown inside the dropbox app...

My idea (unsure if in any way unique) is for the dropbox webapp to use a directory's `README.md` file as the folder's overview, thus creating a space. In essence, this would use a similar design as the many popular remote git repository hosts such as GitHub and GitLab.

This would mean that sharing code repos with non-developer collegues will be far easier, allowing them to use the service they are familiar with (Dropbox) however, still recieve the presentation originally intended.

The markdown file could also contain predefined sections such as `## Pinned` with a list of `[friendly-name](file/folder path)`.
