Honor filename capitalization when exporting
See https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Files-folders/Filenames-become-lowercase-when-attaching-from-DropBox-to-Mail/td-p/349737. Filenames should not become all lowercase when exporting a file from DropBox (e.g. to Mail via Files, or directly to Google Drive). Other sources, such as Google Drive and FileExplorer, do not have this issue.

This is a longstanding bug, not a feature request, that DropBox has claimed is not an issue with DropBox but with iOS, and yet DropBox is the only source that has this issue on iOS -- not Google Drive, FileExplorer, iCloud Drive, etc etc. That's fine; the longer issues like this persist, with DropBox refusing to fix them or even acknowledge it's an issue of theirs, the more people will move to using other services to store and share files, out of necessity.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 11 and so does my wife with her iPhone 8.
We dont use Files but only the Dropbox App for ios. The problem is that we need to attach multiple files to the same email trail thus cannot create a new email each time therefore we have to use email on the ios device and then attach and select file from Dropbox with the correct capital filename, but as soon as I hit sent it makes it lower case. When I do the same from any other app on the phone email leaves it in uppercase.
Please Dropbox, assist your loyal customers with this matter as we make use of this feature every day.

This issue literally happens everywhere. Had to waste a few extra minutes just now reuploading a file to WeTransfer using Google Drive as DropBox changed the entire title to lowercase.
By the way, I got 3 kudos on my post above but the number of idea votes below still says 0. If these are different systems please remember to hit the correct button. If these should actually be the same then DropBox should make sure the votes are being counted correctly. (Not that votes should be required on an issue like this anyway.)

Incredible that Dropbox support insists on calling this, an obvious bug, a "Feature Request". Imagine how long it'll take to get actual features in the iOS Files app.

@posters make sure you're hitting the "Vote for this idea" button in the attached image.
@DropBox I have 5 upvotes on my post above but "0 votes" in the attached area. Is this supposed to happen? Can someone adjust this? Why is the real vote button hidden all the way at the bottom if these are different?

I have multiple upvotes on this "idea" (i.e. bug report) but at the bottom it says 0 votes. The votes number can theoretically be increased, as evident in other idea threads - but it doesn't seem to be working on this one. I tested using my Personal account and hours later it still says 0. Screen recording of the vote and non-count available as evidence. Someone please advise/fix.
Edit: I just noticed, now occasionally the vote count matches the post upvote count, instead of being 0 like it always was before; not sure why.

Why won't Dropbox fix this bug. Even if zero community members ask for it, an obvious and irritating bug should be fixed.

Hi connorhawke,
I could agree with you if the idea was for transformation Dropbox' underlying storage to case sensitive one. Unfortunately, it is NOT (could be considered as a imperfection - to put in mildly). Despite the storage itself is case insensitive, actual (case preserving) files names are keep and could be queried (and usually are received together with lowering case names variant)! It's up to the application (performing access to the storage) choose to lower case or preserving case - again both are available. Why the applications, you are referring to, select lower case?!... Ask corresponding providers! That's their fault. 🤷
Hope this clarifies matter.
