Email validation to improve creation of new accounts
Hello, Dropbox team.
I would like to recommend the implementation of an email validation system to block the creation of new accounts that use emails from an existing account, such as how Google works, where userany@gmail.com and user.any@gmail.com are actually from the same Google account.
I would also recommend implementing an email validation system during account creation to check if an email really belong to the person trying to create an account on Dropbox. That would also resolve the issue above.
Thanks and keep up the good work !

This idea is going to need some additional support before we can share it with the team.
I've updated the status to encourage more users to back it up!

- JayDropbox StaffHi ia123, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
For Dropbox, when using different emails like you suggested, they would be considered different accounts since only Gmail would determine them to be related to the same account.
Are there other email accounts or services that have multiple inboxes?
Keep me updated with any info!- ia123New member | Level 2
Thanks for the quick reply !
Only Google is doing this, as far as I'm aware.
I would say that the best way to avoid similar situations is to have a logic to validate the email address before allowing the user to create an account on Dropbox.
