I have created this thread to provide updates on Dark Mode for Dropbox on Desktop. We are closing off the longer thread for general Dark Mode requests so that we can provide our community with updates for specific products, and so that requests don't get lost.
At the time of posting, our team is looking into Dark Mode for Desktop, but cannot provide a time frame for implementation. You can vote for this idea and comment here to show your support. I will update the status of this idea when we know more!

Still no dark mode support after years of users asking for it. Seriously, Dropbox, we’re not asking for an end to world hunger. Please just add dark mode support.

Any updates on this? It's August 2024 and there is no sign of this on desktop. This is the only app out of about 200 I have installed on my MacBook that doesn't feature dark mode and it feels like it's burning my eyes whenever I have to open it. The web UI is fine, it's just odd that hasn't been extended to desktop yet.

After checking with our team, we wanted to clarify that Dark Mode for desktop hasn't been released yet. However, it's something we're looking into for future updates and improvements.

Brand new MacBook Air. MacOS Sonoma. Dark mode setting in OS. Dark mode setting in my dropbox.com account. Brand new installation of Dropbox client. Signed in. It still blinds me.
I have a vision impairment so white-background apps are an accessibility nightmare.
Dropbox early adopter here -- so disappointed that it's one of the last major desktop apps to adopt a dark mode for the UI.
Please bump up the priority. Thanks.

I'm on MacOS, and have dark mode configured in the OS and on dropbox.com. Still when I open Dropbox from the menu bar, it glares at me in white and blinds me.
For web sites, I use the Dark Reader Chrome extension (works great here). Desktop apps present more of a problem (when they bypass the OS settings).

It doesn't work on MacOS at all. I tested on two different MacOS versions. On my main machine I have MacOS 14.3.1.

Hi frankiegee! Did you choose the “Dark Mode” option from your web settings, or the “Operating System” one?
If the latter, you’ll need to make sure your OS settings are also updated accordingly and perhaps, also restart your computer.
If that doesn’t work though, I’d like to know your OS version, to check this further.

I changed mode on the web site, but the desktop app still looks white. Do I need to reset it somehow? Log out/in?
