You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.
Hello Everybody!
I have created this thread to provide updates on Dark Mode for Dropbox on Desktop. We are closing off the longer thread for general Dark Mode requests so that we can provide our community with updates for specific products, and so that requests don't get lost.
At the time of posting, our team is looking into Dark Mode for Desktop, but cannot provide a time frame for implementation. You can vote for this idea and comment here to show your support. I will update the status of this idea when we know more!
Regards,
Ben

HI everyone, it should be possible to switch to a dark theme from the Dropbox site, which would pass through to the Dropbox desktop application using these steps.
Could you please let me know to see if this feature is working as expected on your devices?

Yeah even on the settings page itself there is just no option to change the light/dark theme.

on the web? i see no setting to change form light to dark. and on Mac OS, even their menu bar icon that drops down doesn't follow light/dark settings on the Mac, it is always light.

Yeah, i just did a 30 day free trial of their Essentials plan to move a large file and things were dark. When i canceled it things went white again.

You sure about that? I pay for DB and I don't have dark mode.

I just found out why drop box is taking so long to implement dark mode. They're restricting it to people who pay for a plan. Free users don't get it.

Dark Mode is an important accessibility requirement. I have a vision impairment which makes it a necessity. MacOS apps ought to respect the OS-level theme setting.

Cheer up, Dropbox guys, for the dark mode!

This is taking a really, really long time guys... it does not inspire confidence in your product. Lots of people still use desktops and this website. Many other companies have leapt ahead of Dropbox.

Dropbox has been trying to figure this out for over 4 years. I thought Dropbox was a tech company. what a joke.
