Allow a personal account to have more than 3 TB
Hello,
I'm a graphic designer with over 15 years of workload. This obviously equates to extreme files sizes. I was disappointed to learn Dropbox don't offer a package for single users over 3TB. I work solely and require more cloud space and don't want to have to upgrade to a 'per user' plan as this isn't cost effective. This option has to become available soon.

So is this just a clear sign that Dropbox doesn't listen to it's costumers?
What the hell happened to the company being a pioneer in the field of digital storage?
Or is someone within the organization intentionally trying to drive customers away?

I would actually subscribe if I could have an unlimited business plan for one user. Instead you need 3 accounts you won't get a penny from me until that changes.

62 upvotes and 7 pages of users saying they want this feature, and all we hear from Dropbox is crickets. And this has more upvotes than most items in ideas, and it’s still listed as “gathering support” while an item with 15 upvotes is being investigated? Makes me wonder if they even follow these forums anymore, or just pander to ideas they are already considering. Really disappointed in this company lately. No longer recommending this product.

I see two options:
- They're trying to make fun of us, blatantly ignoring the most popular request of the community
- Or after firing 50% of their workforce last year, they lack support staff and stopped bothering about market feedback
Appalling. I'm still not renewing my Pro plan.

shinbeth @You make a good point. Maybe they just don’t have the staff anymore or the people who managed this forum got laid off and no one from Dropbox is even seeing these comments. But that is yet one more reason to find another solution. If they can’t support their users, why pay for the service? Funny, if a lack of funds is a problem, maybe they could make more money by selling us more space? SIGH

Any update on this? It's becoming urgent now, I'm exceeding 4TB+ I need way more Dropbox space on Pro plan.
Cheers.

shinbeth Thanks for the article post. I can't help but wonder if they have lost their key engineers. Having run many engineering teams in the past, this is an engineering problem, not a marketing problem. If people are abusing the storage, they should be booted. You do not penalize all your other users because some misbehave. But this would require some work to accomplish.
But today, with new AI technologies, usage data could be put into a Machine Learning model and used to identify abusers. It should be fairly easy to identify. To resell or share your data, wouldn't the new users need to log into the account to use it? Or share a box with other users? An account with too many shared folders that are all always busy would be easy to detect.
And pricing might be a solution as well. A lower price might undercut resellers. Or maybe a higher price would be resold data would not be a bargain again.
There are so many ways to try and cut off abusers. But killing a service for everyone is a stupid solution.
But at least now we know why they do not offer unlimited to personal accounts. The fear that more people would abuse it.
SIGH!

I have a Dropbox Professional account with 1 TB of extra space and need more. However, it costs nearly double for me to upgrade to 5 TB to get a team 3 user plan, and I only need 1 user account — it's super expensive for things I don't need. Please create a way for individuals to add extra TBs of data aside from getting a Team plan. Thanks!

Just announced .... Please may we have some of the same for the Plus and Family plans 😉
"Every Apple ID receives 5GB of free cloud storage, but users can upgrade to a paid iCloud+ storage subscription plan to get 50GB, 200GB, 2TB, 6TB, or 12TB of storage.
Like other iCloud+ subscription plans, the pool of cloud storage can be shared among up to six people via Family Sharing. The bigger iCloud plans are set to become available on Monday, September 18."

100% VOTE for this too.
It would be good if we could add 1TB at a time up to as much as we need.
simples!
