How Do You Enable Two-Step Verification on Your Dropbox Account?

Here at Dropbox, we want to make sure that all of your files and folders are kept as safe as safe as possible for you at all time. To help with this, there are a couple of safety precautions you can take to ensure that you account is fully locked and secure 😎. One of these is two-step verification. 
 
If you’re not sure what is two-step verification is, to put it very simply, it’s an extra step beyond simply entering your email address and password when logging in. So by enabling it, you’re essentially adding a an extra layer of security to your Dropbox account. Dropbox does this by sending you a 6 digit code to enter before you get access to your account.
 
So, if you want to sure up your security and enable two-step verification, you’ll be glad to hear that it’s really easy. All you you need to do is follow these simple steps. Let’s do it! 💪
 

Okay, So Here’s How to Level Up Your Dropbox Security in Under a Minute! 

 
  1. First things first, head on over to dropbox.com to log in
  2. Look to the top right-hand corner of the screen and click on your avatar (you know, that little profile picture of yours 🤓).
  3. In the dropdown menu, select Settings .
  4. Now, click on the Security tab. 
  5. Keep scrolling until you see Two-step verification - your key to extra security.
  6. See that toggle switch? Go ahead and flip it to "On." 
    If you see Managed by single sign-on under the Security tab, your team uses single sign-on (SSO). This means you might not be able to use two-step verification with Dropbox. Contact your admin to learn more.
 
  1. Click Get started and let’s add that extra layer of protection.
  2.  Select the option to receive your verification code by text, then click Next.
  3. Type in your phone number and hit Next.
  4.  You’ll receive a 6-digit code on your phone  enter it, click Next, and you’re all set!
