I had a drop box account a few years ago and can't get access to the account, would drop box cancel that account if it wasn't used after a certain length of time.

    Hi  Steve48,

Thanks for posting here on the Dropbox Community! I've moved your post here to our Dropbox for Beginners group as I think this information could potentially help others who may be new to Dropbox.

When a Dropbox account has had no activity on it for a period of 12 months, it will be deemed to be an inactive account. The account, and everything in it, will then be deleted 90 days after it has been deemed to be inactive. If you are the account owner, you would have received emails from Dropbox, at the email address associated with the Dropbox account, explaining this process.

Unfortunately, if this period of time is over, there is no way to recover any of the files or folders that were stored in this account. You can read a little more about how long Dropbox keeps your files here.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with, and have a nice day!

    Graham
