Hey beatrixwillius, welcome to our Community!
Computer backup lets you back up certain key folders, such as “Desktop”, “Documents” and “Downloads” to Dropbox. Any changes you make to those folders on your computer or in Dropbox will continuously sync to both.
You can also check our Help Center page here for instructions on how to use Computer backup.
As for OneDrive & iCloud or any other services, you should know that while you can Backup the same content, we recommend you disable those backups before using Dropbox Backup to prevent conflicts between backups.
It's not a good idea to have two sync services actively syncing the same content. In any case, I'm going to keep this thread open, in order for others to share their thoughts with you too.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi Megan,
thanks for the fast reply. The linked docs are mighty thin on details. There are no screenshots whatsoever.
So I tried to use Dropbox Backup. Yes, this is beta software.
The preferences should be settings on Sonoma.
The backup settings are well hidden and there are too many clicks to reach the backup.
The window that is always in front is a no-go.
The window is clunky has heck.
No restore on a computer that is being backed up is a no-go.
Timing for backups can't be customized enough.
Hard pass!
