Auto-updates: In progress
- Fabio L.Experienced | Level 12
I have been just auto-updated to this build and the icon in the taskbar is now in the "no connection" mode, dark grey (but it is connected and syncing). I am on Mac OS 12.4 Apple Silicon. Also the "over" information when passing the mouse over the icon disappeared.

Same issue as Fabio L. on mac OS 10.14.6 on Intel: icon is grey, and no hover text.
Edit: Same problem on Catalina.

Had the same issue but having just updated to Monterey 12.5 on my Silicon iMac the icon is now black and shows text when hovering.

Hi, this is to let you know that my Macbook pro has been autoupgraded to this build, and now VoiceOver is reading version number and syncing status as expected. I cannot find the post about the issue right now, but **bleep**'s now fixed. Thank you very much!

Unfortunately, I can't get the arm build to run on my Mac Studio macOS 12.4. Previous build 152... runs fine. I've tried re-installing 3 times and finally gave up. I don't know about the Intel yet.
- Fred D.2Explorer | Level 4
Well, never fails. I was auto-updated to 153... and it's working. I wonder why the installer failed?
- Michele_BHelpful | Level 7
Hi guys, unfortunately I spoke too soon, I am now encountering again the issue where VoiceOver just says Dropbox without version number and syncing status. I have reason to believe that it depends on the update of Monterrey 12.5 which I installed yesterday.
Bye!

Does this fix the Monterey 12.3 - 4 and now 5 syncing problems? If not is there any chance of a fix or should I be switching cloud services? Please just let us know what's going on?
- asiufyCollaborator | Level 8
If you can, switch. There's no indication Dropbox will ever fix and restore their service to previous standards.
- jekratzCollaborator | Level 9
What "syncing problems" are you referring to?
- user001Helpful | Level 6
I have the feeling that the problem will never be solved. For our company, time has come to look for alternatives. The smart sync problem of macOS 12.3 still exists. And soon ventura will be released... Nothing concrete has been heard for months. Apparently there is a private beta, referred to here:
https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/desktop/macos-12-monterey-support
«A private beta version is currently available to select users.» but support knows nothing about it.
We can't manually download the linked files for each InDesign or After Effects individually. With 14 TB of data and a clean directory structure for various customers and jobs, that doesn't work. Everyone would lose massive amount of time. If I have to put an external hard drive at every workstation so that all data is local, we don't need Dropbox anymore. I think it's time for VPN and a big NAS - like in the old days.

Hey!
I'm very unhappy with this update, because it brought back a bug from 2020! The Windows Explorer UI in Windows 10 now have the same glitches again. It is very rare currently, but I hope you can fix it again! Please see ticket #10439499 from March 2020. Feel free to contact me.
Kind regards,
Michael

It appears as a gray icon in the menu bar. Why doesn't the sync icon appear when syncing?
-------------------------
메뉴바에서 회색의 아이콘으로 보입니다. 동기화 할때 왜 동기화 아이콘이 나오지 않나요?

M1 Monterey 12.5 still shows grey icon on task bar. Not yet fixed.

Ticket #18058484.
Someone replied to me early today, and said:
Hi David,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
I added another member of our Team to this ticket so they can help us out further. They will take a look at all the steps we took so far and get back to you soon.
If you would like to add anything else, please reply here in the meantime.
Regards,
ColinI did add more information, but no one has gotten back to me all day. I opened the ticket on 7/28, and have yet to get any help.
Thanks-

To those who might consider switching to OneDrive because it supposedly works so much better than Dropbox... I am currently waiting about an hour with the various bits of OneDrive using 100%+ CPU uploading one folder thats 1.4GB and 26000 items and one thats 130mb with about 500 items. Trying to transfer from one work Mac to another and at the moment this is an Intel Mac having the problem but it's still using the same version of OneDrive as the Apple Silicon Mac on the other side. So no, there is no magic there, OneDrive is still terrible.
