Closing an account without affecting other users

If you transfer the ownership of the shared folder to another member, then they will technically own it and the files within. Afterwards, you can leave the folder without it affecting other people.

Hi Jay, it was the 2TB account. I added a list of files And (so long ago) I think I gave one user ownership. (not100% certain)
There is a main folder with subs in it. If I look at a folder, I can, for example see that it has 7 members, all listed in Alpha order, all listed as Can Edit, EXCEPT me, I am the OWNER.
Checking further I can see this setting

Members with edit access can add people.
I think this means these users can add people, but may not be owners.
I'd like to know, can I remove myself as owner somehow, and If I do, will I screw up access for the existing users?
