Unable to stop Mac Backup 'to manage these settings, sign in on the same computer'...
I have two Macs.... iMac and MacBook. I have dropbox set up on both, and a backup setup on both. I am able to manage the MacBook backup...on the MacBook. But the iMac backup I get the message 'To...

Just for confirmation, trying to disable the backup for the iMac, from the iMac itself, results in the same message?

Hi,
Yes I have setup a backup on the iMac. It seems to be constantly 'backing up' all the time causing my day to day files to sometimes take hours if not days to sync up. I have resorted to either using another computer or using a web browser just to get my files uploaded.
When I go to manage the backup on the iMac I get the message 'to manage these settings, sign in on the same computer' it is obviously the same computer I set the backup up with, so I currently have no way to stop the backup.

Hi STaber, have you tried disabling the feature, using your Backup page online?
- STaber2 years agoExplorer | Level 4I tried everything. Ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the Mac app. Seems to have broken the endless loop of trying to backup and not uploading files. I will steer clear of backups for a while I think
