Can I delete an old account to free up that email address, to change it on another account?
I had a primary email account associated with work but I am now leaving work.
I created a new account using a yahoo email, but realise that this will not mean I can view my files and folders from ...

Hi JuliaB2, thanks for messaging the Community!
If the Yahoo account is a completely separate Dropbox account, with no files in it, you can delete it entirely.
Once the account is deleted, you can change the email on the primary account, which will remove the old work email.

the yahoo account does have a shared folder in it. does that make a difference.
I can try to delete the one folder in the yahoo account, will I then be able to delete the whole account?

You can save any files you want to keep on your computer, and remove your access to the shared folder, to be certain. Afterwards, you can delete your account.
