Sync specific photo album on iOS with Dropbox?

For my work, sometimes people tag our products on Instagram. I use an iOS Shortcut to save these photos onto my iPhone, and then I always save the photos in a specific photo album inside the native Photos app to keep it organized.

However, when I work from my MacBook it’s sometimes a bit annoying that all of these photos are on my phone; not on my MacBook. So I use Airdrop to transfer them. It would be much easier if when adding the photo to the album on my iPhone, it would at the same time also be uploaded to a Dropbox folder. Is it possible to somehow just sync one iOS photos album with Dropbox?

I tried the IFTTT Applet called "If new photo added to iOS album, upload to Dropbox" which sounds like exactly what I need, but it doesn't seem to work.

  • I too couldn't find an app to sync a specific album to dropbox. There is an app for android but not for ios. I was able to automate a siri shortcut to copy the album to dropbox. I automate this shortcut to run whenever I am charging my device. I am just learning the siri shortcuts. Hope this helps.

That’s a good solution. Thanks 🙏🏻 Rather than syncing all photos I assume I’ll just be able to select a specific photo album to sync, and in that case it’ll be perfect for what I need

Yes you can. As you can see I am uploading just the album named "Uploaded" from photos and its being saved in Dropbox folder named "Uploaded"

Hello Oliver88, I hope you're having a good day so far!

What I could suggest for you here might be to use the automatic camera uploads feature, you can check out a little more info about this here.

However, this would upload images from your camera roll rather than from a specific folder.

Another option I could suggest would be to import the file directly from Instagram to the Dropbox mobile app. You should have an option to "Save to Dropbox" when saving the file to your device.

Let me know if this helps!

Thakns for your reply. So it isn't possible to somehow sync a specific iOS photo album to Dropbox? I wish that IFTTT applet would work, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

        Hi Oliver88

I'm afraid it isnt possible, not without a third party integration (IFTTT as you said?)
