Dropbox v213.3.4480 / Windows 10: File Statuses & Change??
I just got "upgraded" to the newest version of the Dropbox client for Windows, v213.3.4480.
After it did the upgrade, it told me that there was some "new update" for Windows, so (perhaps stupidly) I went ahead and agreed to it.
Now, all Dropbox files no longer have a status overlay on the icon, but there is a new column in Windows File Explorer that indicates file status. In essence, it appears they've separated the overlay and assigned them their very own column.
The new application gave me a quick "tour" of the new "overlay" icons that have been separated out, which appear to be much the same as the ones that were originally overlaid, just larger and in a separate column.
My problem, now, is that everything is coming up "Available," but not "Available Offline" as I originally had them set prior to the upgrade. I never asked Dropbox to change this attribute in any form or fashion, and I didn't give it permission to.
I have plenty of space on my HDD, so I can assure you it's not an issue of lacking space. There was otherwise no need to change this attribute.
Your help article says that if I want to change the file's availability to "Available Offline" (solid green circle/white check), then I need to go to the file(s) and right-click on them for a context menu and select "Make available offline."
The problem is that this item does not exist in the context menu for files in my Dropbox.
So, folks, how do I undo Dropbox' wanton disregard for my preference and get it back the way I want it?
An answer to this, I feel, is categorically warranted.
I await.
(I'd upload screenshots, but this forum won't allow uploads, it seems.)
