It sounds like this has to do with our backup feature.
Would you mind clarifying if you're talking about a 'My Passport' external drive?
If that's the case and you enabled external drive backup for it, you can follow the steps here to disable it.

Hannah, I just had the same issue. I don't want Passport backing up into my Dropbox. I received a notice as to that was what it was doing. I checked automatic backups and listed last back up as of January. Confused> why did I get a notice?

Hi Terrig, have you tried deleting the backup of the external drive to see if this helps?
