Dropbox Size counting

Hi,

I own a private Drop-Box account and linked a dropbox-link of my association, where I work at the board. My problem is now, that my private Dropbox-Account has a special size. But when I link the dropbox of the association I work for to my private Dropbox, this is reducing the free space of my dropbox by the size of the linked Dropbox.

Is there a possibility to avoid such a behavior?

Thanks and best regards

Dietmar

Hi @DietmarSm, you can always ask for the sender to send you a shared link instead.

That way you can view, and download the content locally if needed.

    Hi DietmarS, happy Monday!

Just to make sure we're on the same page, and that I provide you the correct info: it sounds like you have a Dropbox account, and your space is been reduced when you try to add shared content to it, right?

You don't happen to work with two Dropbox accounts, right?

Is the associated link a shared folder, by any chance? If so, then this would be expected behavior, since shared folders take up space on both the senders, and the recipient's Dropbox account.

    Let me know more!

      Hi Megan,

Many thanks for your quick response. You got the topic and yes it's a shared folder. In that case you answered my question and it seems that there is no way to avoid this :-).

      Thanks and take care

      Dietmar
